the project
The Grand Paris Express includes 68 new stations and as many artworks, each created by an artist and an architect working in tandem.
The proximity of Charles-de-Gaulle airport led artist Esther Stocker to depict the themes of lightness and flight. She hangs large paper planes from the ceiling of the Le Mesnil-Amelot station, designed by architect Benoît Le Thierry d’Ennequin. These metal sculptures refer to the idea of a sheet of paper turned into a flying object, on which the artist draws the black lines characteristic of her work.
PAAR is carrying out the engineering studies for the work. A prototype plane is currently in progress.
